17.January.18

“Why so glum, my donkey-friend-chum?”

“Well, you see, I am feeling a bit Eeyorish because I think it is hokum.”

“What is hokum?”

“The hokey-pokey.”

“I do not understand; please explain.”

“I was feeling famished for friendly fun, so I tried to play with people under sun.”

“That sounds like an appropriate way to feel better. What happened?”

“When they put their right legs in, I put in my left hoof. Then, they all jeered and stood there aloof.”

“Oh, my! That sounds heartbreaking.”

“Yes. And, then, when I shook it all about, those next to me fell down. Soon, they all began to shout.”

“Oh, dearest donkey-friend-bud, I am so sorry you had your heart drawn through the mud.”

“It was the only sad part of my day and it distracted me from lunch’s sour hay and how my tail has begun to fray and the sanctuary not letting my stay and the raspiness in my bray and not having a mat on which to lay. So, it is all okay.”

“I detect some paralipsis and sarcasm in your reply. Do you deny?”

“My pair of lips is not chapped; I use a pineapple balm.”

“Well, that sounds sublime; I am glad you did not pick lime–that one stings. May I give you a hug?”

“That would be cool, but I do not want to bug. Thanks for the bavardage. Sorry I am so ugh.”

“Donkey! I love you! You silly goose! Come get your squish and pinch on caboose!”

“I am glad for you too. Regarding my frown, just so you know, inside, unseen, it is now upside down.” ; )
